Grief Coaching

For the losses that have changed the shape of your life

Grief coaching with Swas is a bespoke, deeply personal journey built entirely around you and what you are carrying. There is no standard programme, no fixed timeline and no expectation that your grief will follow a predictable path. Conversations are shaped by your specific loss, your specific history with loss and where you need to go from here. The work draws on both clinical knowledge of grief processes and my very own lived experience of loss (creating a space that is informed without being clinical and compassionate without being passive).

Grief taught me things no qualification ever could

There is something in the way loss disrupts people, the way it dismantles the self and forces a reckoning- that seemed important to understand because I had personal reasons to study grief. It propelled me from a victim mindset.

I followed that instinct and trained as a Certified Grief Coach

Divorce. The death of a sibling. The loss of a job & both parents over consecutive years. I know what it is to grieve while still having to show up; for children, for clients, for the work. I know what it costs to keep going when the going is genuinely hard.

I do not sharing this to perform vulnerability. I am sharing it because it is the source of something in this work that no amount of training can manufacture: the ability to sit with someone in the hard place and not try to move them out of it too quickly.

The grief coaching is not a separate service. It is woven into everything because loss, in all its forms, is one of the most powerful catalysts for the kind of honest conversation that changes a life.

Grief is wider than death. It is the experience of losing something that mattered; a person, a relationship, a role, a version of the future you had counted on.

Job loss. Divorce. A diagnosis that changes everything. The end of a friendship. The slow erosion of a marriage. The grief of a parent whose child has grown distant.

These losses are real, they are significant and they deserve the same care and attention as the losses the world more readily acknowledges. Grief coaching is appropriate at any stage of a loss whether you are in the acute early period, or whether you have been carrying something unprocessed for years and feel ready to finally put it down properly.

If you have been carrying this long enough to know it is not going away on its own because it catches you in the throat when a familiar scent, sound or place reminds you of a memory, this is for you.

Grief coaching is not about getting over it. It is about learning to carry it in a way that does not cost you everything else.

Grief is not a problem to be solved or a phase to be rushed through. It is the price of having loved something that mattered. Grief coaching creates the space or vessel to carry it forward differently.

A Father's Daughter

Grief coaching with Swas is neither theoretical or a framework applied from the outside. It is the work of someone who has sat inside the specific, disorienting loss of a father and who chose to write her way through the peak of COVID so that others would not have to find their way alone.

My book, A Father's Daughter is an internationally published memoir: an honest, deeply personal account of losing a father and navigating the identity, grief and healing that follow. It is not a self-help manual. It is not a clinical guide. It is the kind of book that finds you when you need it; sometimes when the loss is raw, perhaps when it is old and left unprocessed, or when you are simply trying to understand why the person you were before does not quite fit anymore.

This book is not written from the outside of grief looking in; but from inside it, moving through it, one word at a time.

Grief is an intimate and personal journey that is best related to among those who have experienced it. For this reason, I created a PRIVATE group- where there is no judgement, only a platform to share our memories of our late loved ones. I share my memories of my father and the lessons he taught me.

The Page below shares similar information- however please be mindful this Page is PUBLIC. Please follow as per your preference. I welcome you to join and share your journey too.
